The Pantheon is one of the most iconic and well-preserved buildings from ancient Rome. Located in the heart of Rome, Italy, this architectural marvel has stood the test of time and continues to attract millions of visitors from around the world each year.

The original Pantheon was built in 27 BC by Roman statesman Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus. It was primarily a temple dedicated to the gods of ancient Rome. Unfortunately, this original structure was destroyed in a fire in 80 AD.

The Pantheon that we see today is the result of a reconstruction effort initiated by Emperor Hadrian in 126 AD. It was built on the same site as the original structure but with a completely different design. The new Pantheon was a testament to Roman engineering and architectural prowess, and it remains largely intact to this day.
